Two years ago I posted my adoption search information on a message board. I was contacted by Ms Sandi Duncan and was told by her that she could find my birthmother for me for $150.00. She said she could supply references to me but I spoke with her by phone, and felt that she was honest. Boy, was I wrong. I got nothing from her, absolutely nothing but lame excuses. I gave up on writing her a long time ago because she kept coming up with excuses about being sick or having problems. I just know what happened to me and I learned a valuable lesson from it. Oh, my birthmother was eventually found by Kinsolving. She found my birthmom before I even paid her. Stay away from Sandi Duncan. She is a fraud. I am just lucky that my story has a happy ending. I will warn everybody about Sandi. It is a shame that she even defrauds paid searchers too. I guess you can't trust hardly anyone. I can't say that I'm surprised at all and I am overjoyed that you located your birthmother, regardless of Sandi's incompetence. You are to be commended for continuing your search. Well, Amanda, I did try and send an email to this carolinapines addy and my email was returned - user unknown - but that doesn't mean that this person doesn't exist. If you like Sandi Duncan and she found your birthson for you, then consider yourself lucky. She took money from a friend of mine over a year and a half ago and has given her nothing! And she makes no reply when my friend asks about a refund. I still say that she's a fraud! And what about the data that she sold someone for $300? They sent her the money in good faith and have never received anything from her. Sandy owes several people hundreds of dollars right now. Go ahead and PAY her for another search, Amanda. See is she "comes through" this time. Nobody has ANY business taking money for a search they cannot complete. Oh, Sandy JUST changed her phone number recently because she got tired of all the people she owed money to calling her and requesting it. What do you think of that? I dare you - use her again. She if she "comes through." The only time she can is when she has a current name and then, she has somebody else doing her lookups. I can't imagine her having to explain to her hubby where all the money is coming from unless he is in on it with her. Of course someone stealing money won't answer questions, that would be like putting a rope around ones own neck and jumping off a chair. Sounds like she can't keep up with her stories and that is why she had her number changed. IF SHE WAS TRULY INNOCENT SHE WOULD HAVE KEPT THE SAME NUMBER, INNOCENT PEOPLE ANSWER QUESTIONS, NOT DODGE THEM. That's just it - supposedly her husband does NOT know. The woman scammed professional searchers, claiming she was selling records that she didn't even own and were incomplete if she did have them. It's a bit more difficult when more than one state is involved and Sandi knew that when she "took" the money. She took $300 from a VOLUNTEER who only donates her time. Sandi, if only you didn't lie and take the money out of the pockets of VOLUNTEERS, I wouldn't say anything but what you did to Chrissy was the LOWEST thing anybody could do - taking $300 Western Union and providing her with NOTHING - no refund and no records.
