Trying to understand if there is a way to defer using the tax credit.

- Adopted twins (US Citizens) in 2003 with just about all expenses
paid in that year
- Adoption was finalized in 2004

I would like to avoid taking the credit in 2004 and use it in 2005.
Is this possible?  Due to a one-time event my 2004 AGI will likely
exceed the limit for getting the credit.  For previous tax years and
tax years for the foreseeable future, my AGI has and will be well
within the limit of taking the full credit.

I don't see how you can delay this to 2005.
