I just got off the phone with her dad.  She's breathing on her own
today, which is very hopeful, but still requires 100% oxygen through a
mask.

Apparently she aspirated something during or after surgery.  Frankly,
I'm absolutely amazed that they sent her home.

Her family thanks you all for the good wishes.  Healing thoughts are
wonderful.

Wanted to clarify---she's still in intensive care.  I mean I'm amazed
that they sent her home so soon after her surgery.  :-)

Okay, now I'm confused - How can she be in intensive care if she's home?

She had surgery on Wednesday.  They sent her home Thursday.  She went
to the ER on Sunday.  She's in intensive care now.

Still sending good thoughts and all that jazz :)

Just checked back in today and saw your notes about KL - I'm so glad she is
doing better - may she continue on the road to a speedy recovery!

> Apparently she aspirated something during or after surgery.

That's what they said about my dad.  Actually I don't think they really know
for sure, but that is the likely culprit they point the finger at when
something like this happens after surgery.  It's generally aspiration or
sepsis.

> I'm absolutely amazed that they sent her home.
I'm not :( Although to be fair it was a gradual (albeit somewhat quicker)
buildup to that point for my Dad.
