What U.S. states have open adoption records?

Let's see...  Kansas and Alaska have never closed their records.  Then
there's Oregon, New Hampshire, Alabama and now Maine.

Did I miss anybody?

Good for Maine, they managed to do what another New England state
(Massachusetts) couldn't do. BTW, does anyone know the status of the
bogus bill in Mass?

The bill was totally compromised.  For some reason deformers think they can
compromise with people and organizations who don't want anybody to have
access to their records.  In NH they had the Gant of Four  opposed to them:
NCFA, Right to Life; ACLU, and Planned Parenthood.  A recent news article
implied that the bill is dead, but it's still on the NJ leg site with no
action cited.  An earlier article suggested what some of the compromises
would be, but again, those compromises are not in the bill's history. They
need to scrap it and start over.  Of course, they won't.

Thanks Marley.  I wonder what ever happened to "the majority rules".
Ontario is now having to go through a court challenge by 3 adoptees and
1 birthmother, against their new open adoption law coming into effect
this fall.  What the outcome of that will be is anyone's guess.  Some
judge may rule against the bill and squash it.

The state of Maine just opened its records and will be available I
think in January.....Oregon is open, TN is semi open, Kansas has never
been closed.
A few others are open, everyone else is in the battle. MF need to open
the records........and we call this america of the free.....adoptees
are the only ones without access to their original documents....and
the country where babies are a huge commodity-supply and
demand.....ever wonder HOW they get women to surrender; lie, steal,
cheat.........sounds like the satanical system that it is. Rob Mary to
give to Mary-Ann.
