We've been blessed to have DS in the wonderful day care on my work site for
the last 18 months, but unfortunately, no longer.  The centre is principally
there for the TAFE students, not TAFE staff, and DS has been bumped.  As of
next Monday, I have no day care.

None of our parents are physically up to looking after a 3yo regularly, though
they might manage a bit next week.

Guess who will spend tomorrow making phone calls from work?!

jeeze, that blows chunks!

I hope you find somewhere suitable quickly.

Well, they don't get much warning themselves.  The students enrol for the
semester and enrol in the day care at the same time, and for some of them, the
day care place means the difference between studying and not studying.  The
centre is only for about 30 kids, too.  Well, we were lucky for 3 semesters,
which is pretty good.

DS and I will bake them a farewell cake tomorrow.  We will miss them :-(

I am not sure of exactly where you work, but there are a couple of
Pre-schools over my way that have vacancies Merrylands/Parramatta/South
Granville.. Not sure if pre-school hours of 9-3 would suit you...

I can email you the names of them if pre-schools would suit...

This morning, I rang the first day care on my list.  They have a
place for him!!

Now we did pray about this last night at bedtime, but I still thought
I would need to put in some legwork!  I'm staggered.  Even better, my
workmate who was in the same boat as me also found day care today for
her little boy.  We're stoked!  So is our boss, who has had exactly
this sort of problem herself, and wasn't looking forward to us taking
leave to cover the gaps.

I have visited this day care before, and if it isn't satisfactory I
will leave DS there for the short term and look for a better place
(didn't see anything really amiss with it when I was there a few
years ago, but I'm surprised to find a place with actual vacancies).
I don't really have much choice, with only a week's notice.  The
centre is large and close to home, so DS will probably be going to
school with some of the other children in a few years.

Will be visiting it on Thursday, and will keep you up to date.
