Hi-

I've been lurking here for awhile.  My first is due May 11th.  I'm so glad
I've been reading in here, you guys have great information and have even
answered questions I never thought about asking!  Anyway once the little guy
gets here I'm sure I'll have questions, so I just thought I'd say hi and
thank you for what I've already learned before I start being a "pest" :).

Welcome!

Some of us hang around several years after stopping nursing.

Ah but you have kidlets and can give a much needed male perspective, so it's
great that you are here, I love reading all of the advice.  Like I said this
is my first and while I've read books and done research that I can there is
nothing like first hand experience.

Well, I suppose I can claim some expertise, have had to work with eight
different lactation consultants trying to get my daughter to latch correctly
and supporting DW while she pumped for a FULL YEAR(!!) so our daughter could
enjoy the benefits of breastmilk.  (Now 2 1/2, she's healthy, happy, and
thriving.)

You'll find, Melissa, that this group is a fantastic resource both for
information and support.  You came to the right place!

I think it is great to see some dads out there who are actively involved in
the bfing of their kids, ok so you may not actually be able to nurse the
child but I am sure the dads are invaluable to their partners particularly
in those first few weeks when you are still finding your feet. I dont think
I would have ever got both my twins latched on in the first month without
DHs help!!!

At least not voluntarily. I remember one of mine latching on to Allan
and I remember him howling.
