Being it has been awhile since I nursed a newborn, when do they start to
space themselves?
I am not in any rush, but would like an idea of when I can schedule a few
doctor appointments for myself where he wont be permanantly glued to me.

He is 6 weeks old right now and loves to eat constantly.

Hi Jo!

I was able to leave Rayna with my visiting in-laws and go to my six-week
postpartum appointment by myself. I was gone for a couple of hours, and
she was fine. (I nursed her right before I left for the appointment and
nursed her immediately after I returned. You might be able to get away
with doing something like that at his age, if your appointment is
close-by and doesn't run too long.)

Rayna didn't start spacing out her feedings until she was at least a few
months old, IIRC. At that point a lot of things got much better (supply
caught up, she was going longer between feeds, she was getting over her
colic, etc.).

BTW, I love Ronnie's website! :)

HI Mary!

I took Ronnie to my 6 week and had DH hold him. I have to make
appoinments with my immunologist  and rheumtologist. I am probably
better off waiting a few months before I even attempt and even then,
taking him with me. (I have sat in those offices for hours at times just
waiting)

Oh colic, it is so much fun!  I feel so bad for the little ones when
they have it. Ronnie gets so miserable at times and has the most
pathetic cry. I told DH I have to make a mini movie for heartbreak later
when he is a teenager and I get upset with him. It just melts my heart.

Thanks about his site! I wanted to seperate his sweet baby stuff from my
own vent site. It just didn't seem right to have them together when I
know kids go look at the baby pictures and I don't want them to see or
read something that might be a little off colour so to speak.  It will
be something nice for him to have as he grows up to take over, and with
family being thousands of miles away, it is nice for them to just click
and watch him. I want to get the webcam up and running on it a few hours
a week so they can see him live, but just can't seem to get enough time
in the day to do it.

I am surprised I am getting this much typed in two settings. :)

My doctor asked me yesterday how long I was going to nurse, and I said
till Ronnie gives it up.  Poor DH laughed so hard because we have been
watching one of his countries shows, Little Britain, and the brits will
get this one... I want Bitty. :) Will have to tell you about it if you
don't know it.

Thanks for the info. It has been very hard to remember a thing about
what the girls were like when they were new.

Hugs to you and Rayna!

HI JO! I think my boys started spacing their feedings at around 2.5 mos.
Before that it seemed pretty constant. Exhausting but worth it.
hang in there.

Hi Susan... I forgot how long it took for them to not be glued... I
really don't mind though. I know how long it took to get my little man
and I am going to enjoy every moment! :)

OH yeah on the tired... very tired and delirious. :0

Thank you for the support!

This is an adult Harvey Pincher and his girlfriend Jane and his parents
and in the middle of every sketch he starts with the word Bitty. First
he just says it and you wonder what is he talking about, then he says it
with a whine and his mother says not now, Bitty later and goes about her
conversation until he keeps saying hungry, Bitty now and she gives in
and pulls out her breast and feeds him. The love to make fun of the
people who worry about nursing too long by going to the extreme and it
is hilarious to see.

They have stills from one of the episodes here.

I found a clip as well but it also has bits of the Bubbles sketch on it.
(Bubbles is another sketch they do where a man wheres a old lady fat
suit, don't want you to think it is part of the actual Bitty sketches)

http://lbcc.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/media/videos/BubblesnBitty.wmv

It is an ongoing sketch so each week they are in a new environment.
The sad thing is now they have Bitty Ring tones and DH wants to put one
on my phone.. Wait till he finds out they have shirts. See what happens
when you marry a brit? lol

If you have BBC, try and locate it, if not let me know, I might be able
to get you a copy. :)

Hugs,

Jo
