My physiotherapist has discharged me, not because I am better or on the
mend, but because I am too bad for him to do anything. I'm frustrated by
this as basically I've only had one dip, as in my muscle function had always
improved even if only slightly since the previous appointment, until today
when it has gone back to how it was 2 months ago. However he is also
combining that with the history from my previous physio, where I think I had
2 big dips, but even so 3 dips in 8+ months would seem to be a normalish
part of healing.
Right now my condition is so bad that we have my MIL staying with us during
the week because I cannot be alone with the children for more than a short
time.
The physio suggested I phone the people I am supposed to be having
appointments with, namely, the rheumatologist and the pain clinc and try and
bring forward the appointments, so far I have had no success, which means I
am likely to be left for months with no treatment.
Until now, I've thought I was doing quite well at keeping my pecker up,
taking things one day at a time, but now I feel quite hopeless.

Just wondering... I haven't been following your story closely enough to
know what's going on besides SPD, but I wonder if your endocrine
function has ever been looked at? The pain & misery could *possibly* be
connected with thyroid/adrenal issues, & perhaps chronic fatigue
syndrome (which I have) and/or fibromyalgia? Tell me to shut up if this
is inappropriate.

Anne,
How are you sleeping? Are you able to go back to sleep after or during
nursing? Not getting enough sleep can be really bad for the muscles.
I have chronic muscle pain from my bad feet making my muscles have to
work very hard to overcome the unstable feet. Anyway, I know my pain
is alot less if I get enough sleep, and I take benadryl all the time to
sleep because of that. My life would be horrible without benadryl.
Anyway, I thought I would mention it in case it would help you.

pretty bad, I'd forgotten about benadryl, I'm off to the docs just now, I'll
ask him for a script

I asked my doc and he agreed it was worth a try and wrote me a script for
something along those lines, not sure whether it is precisely benadryl, but
an antihistamine with a sedative side effect rather than anything else
