Hi Larry, Good to "see" you at rec.running. I'm training for few races
these days. I'm still bf my 2 yo couple of times a day. She's too
adamant for me to even start thinking of weaning. but weaning is
something I have to do pretty soon. Just don't know how :)

Well, you know me, I'm a zealot! Just go with the flow, and let
her decide. I am convince that at this age, a big benefit is the
increased confidence and less separation anxiety as she starts
playgroup, preschood, kindergarten, and finally real school! :-)
Back to the running, how is it going. I wanted to reiterate that
shorter runs 5x weekly is better than longer runs 3x weekly. I
also wanted to reiterate that you want 1 long run a week, longer
than your race distance. If you also want to increase your speed
and get competitive, and not just finish, then you should also make
one of the "short" runs intervals on a track. Say, run 8 quarter
miles walking half a lap between for recovery. You don't have to to
this every week, but least every other. This build leg strength
and speed.
Good luck,
Larry
