Whatever--You're way off base but I guess you are determined to stay there. What
I'm really concerned about is that some men feel Republicans are their allies
and that Democrats are wholly responsible for the mess in family court. I think
this is a dangerous position for dads to take. The problem for dads is systemic
and neither party has shown itself to be supportive. Both parties need to be
shaken up. Both need to learn that dads will *only* support the party that
deserves their support. Thus far, neither does. And yes--I will vote based on
this single issue--if a candidate were bold enough to make it an issue. So far,
they are all pathetically spineless and/or totally clueless.

Republicans are NOT the allies of men, but at least Republicans are not
campaigning hard against men as the Dems are doing.
"As president, I will put American government and our legal system back
on the side of women." John Kerry, misandrist Democratic candidate for
President. http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/women/
Democrats are the enemies of men. Republicans are not the friends of
men. Both parties are responsible for the horrible legal mess for men
and children in the US. Similar situations exist in other countries.

Yep, neither party supports men. The Reps are marginally better because
they don't actively oppose men.

When did we divide into sides?

Hehe--It's then a matter of "legislate how you please but just don't mention it
in public" like the other party does. LOL! That's funny, guys. Men must learn to
support *the candidate* that supports dads. Period. To sing praises of either
party is blasphemy.

I do not see anyone singing the praises of either party. Likely just more
vocal against the Democrats since they are so much more virulent in their
rhetoric against fathers. I have yet to decide who I am going to vote for
however know for certain it will not be the two most anti-father candidates,
Kerry and Edwards.
I am still holding out hope someone will make fathers gaining equal rights
an issue between now and November.

I have sent multiple emails to the Kerry campaign asking for his position on
men's rights and if he supports equal rights between the sexes or just
special rights for woman on their issues. When I used to women's issues
information link to ask my questions about men's rights, all I got back was
more boiler plate crap about his position on women's rights.
Kerry has no intention of getting anywhere near men's rights. He's
trolling for the women's vote pandering to their every dream.

This thread and the other you seem to take it as if I support the
Republicans wholeheartly. The Republicans are also responsible in many ways
and have been instrumental in founding of child support laws. However they
are not actively campaigning against fathers rights. It is the Democrats
along with the Kerry-Edwards that are actively campaigning against equal
rights for fathers this election.
Although third parties are a long shot I still hold out hope one will come
out for keeping the government out of family life or for equal rights for
fathers. Even if they get few percentage points of a vote it will send up
red flags to the major parties that we can influence future elections which
is all that is needed.

check out www.lp.org The Libertarian Party is against governmental control
over many things, family life and morality included. I'm not sure where
they are on "equal rights for fathers" specifically, but holding true with
their message, they should be all about that. Badnarik in 2004!
