Reuters: An Australian woman has taken revenge on her
cheating husband by putting a photograph of his lover's
underpants up for sale on the auction site eBay
http://atu.ca/Adultery
In the listing the woman says she is selling a picture of a
pair of lacy black knickers and an empty condom wrapper
"size small" found in her bed after her husband had an
affair with another woman.
The seller -- identified on eBay only as annastella007 --
provides a rather unflattering description of the knickers.
"They are so huge I thought they may make someone a nice
shawl or, even better, something for Halloween perhaps."
The eBay listing, entitled "Empty condom packet & a photo
of 'The Tart's' knickers," also includes a detailed account
of the events leading up to the discovery...

Would she rather he had an affair with another man?
Would the fact that she was a lousy lay had anything to do with it?

I think he was trying to say that there are two sides to any story. If
the guy's wife is a lousy lay, or merely witholding sex as a twisted
form of punishment, then she is not very likely to acknowledge, let
alone document, that fact as it would cause people to have less
sympathy for her.
Don't get me wrong... I don't think he should have had an affair.
However, there may be mitigaing circumstances of which we are not
aware.
Remember, while there may be no "excuses" there most certainly are
"reasons".

Why are you "reasoning"?

If you try and bookmark this item (from the given link) you get taken
to what looks like an ebay login page. in my case this rang alarm
bells; I was already logged in and in any case the page did not know
my ebay id, which it normally does.
is this whole thing a scam to collect ebay ids and passwords?

No, that link is just a redirect to an actual ebay listing. If you cut
and paste the listing number from that page and go to www.ebay.com and
enter that listing number in the search field you will get right back
to that same page.
Totally made up however. I hope they actually make someone pay the
$25,000 that is currently bid for it.

Hmm. I haven't looked at the auction or heard anything about this
beyond reading this thread, but... am I the only one seeing this as
most likely a made-up story just to draw some attention and sell a
worthless item for $303?
