Don't worry. I am also going to court with no lawyer. in my case I spent
$15 000 inheritance on the house and her visa. That is all lost. they
threatened me to sign seperation agreement and sign over the house in place
of my pension. Now I have to go to court myself and try to get it earaced.

No, you are not the first. I've done it as well. It is scary, but what
you need to do is be nice, be prepared, and be calm.
How can the judge have denied another stay when you said that you just
got this notice. You can do this, all you need to do is be prepared.
List out the issues that are in contention and post it if you want some
eyes to look at it. just in generalities. I believe (I might be wrong)
that case law doesn't really matter, but more the law itself.
One thing you will want is detail, especially if you have kids. But you
need to post more about your situation.

They have no idea of the crap I'm dealing with, do they? What lawyers
DON'T do, will amaze, frustrate, and anger you.
In some instances, the only way you will get an issue brought up is to
do it yourself. My, now deceased, lawyer never brought up issues of
jurisdiction or
procedural errors such as NOT notifying myself or my attorney of the
hearing. It's no wonder they got a default judgment. What I want to know now
is....can I bust that lawyer's a.s for willfully, and knowingly, failing to
give proper notice, even though it was 7 years ago? Can a court be forced to
eat their decision based on such evidence.
Apparently, I need a lawyer to answer those questions. My searches tell
me the lawyer will not even hear of it, let alone get a slap on the wrist,
and the state will ignore the evidence entirely.<sigh>

You can do it if you prepare as best you can, stay calm and sound
reasonable. Good suggestions from Rambler here.
Don't show up looking like a bum! Many clerks will toss you out of the
courtroom if you're not dressed appropriately, and then you'll end up with
an order by default.
