Just when you thought it was over...

What a bunch of a.sholes.

Leave the man and what is left of his wife in peace!

Well, I for one didn't think it was over - not really.    Why?    Because I
am slowly learning never to underestimate the idiocy of mankind.    You
should try it sometime.    See, then ya can't be disappointed.   And as you
can tell, it's working admirably over here.

Based on the majority of your posts, I think you're constantly
disappointed, almost to the point of purposely looking for
disappointment just to prove your point, regardless of how you spin it.

May be.    I don't know.

Terri has been going for 12 or 13 days without nourishment or water.

She just doesn't seem like someone who WANTS to die.

Just because a physical body has the capacity to keep going does not
mean that the spirit inside it wants to.

Imagine yourself in a completely isolating jail cell. There is a tap
to allow water to come in, and there is an automated door to allow
food to reach you - but there is NO ability to communicate with ANYONE
on the outside EVER. Your screams are not heard because the cell is
soundproof. There is NO ONE for YOU to appeal to!

It is worse than the "life" sentences we give to murderers. Yes,
murderers have rights! They can appeal! They can eat 3 square meals
per day, and exercise, even socialize with other prisoners!

But not Terri. By artificailly keeping Terri alive, we sentence her to
a long life of solitary confinement from which she will not be
released until society has exacted the ultimate price, and she dies -
you know, when her body simply ceases to function at all.

What a lonely, long, slow painful death Terri will have in store if
the government screws up now.

And all because we refuse to admit the truth, grieve, and move on.

What an advanced society we have become. NOT! :(

Does this mean that you think Terri has awareness?

Nope, she is in a limbo of sorts, stuck attached to a body that can no
longer contain her.

Crimeny, certain parts of her brain have dissolved! She ain't there
anymore folks.

This is why I have a living will, and durable power of attorney...

Fido, yesterday the neuro said she's already gone. Even if they put the
tubes back in, her kidneys are shot and she'll probably die anyway. She
hasn't urinated all week.

Correct. The poor lady's been dead since her heart attack.

And Johnny Cochran died today in his hospice. Wonder why nobody's
complaining about that. All he had was a brain tumor. Apparently, his
cerebral cortex was still functional.

Want has nothing to do with it. It just takes time to run out of gas and
die.
