Tonight my 6yo son said from the backseat, "Daddy, how was God born?"

I said, "You know, your theory is as good as anybody's. What do you think?"

He said, "I think the clouds made Him. But where did the clouds come from?"

I said, "I dunno. What do you think?"

"Hmmmm... the Earth. But where did the Earth come from?"

"Dunno. What do you think?"

He said, "God made the Earth."

"I thought the clouds made God."

"Oh, right," he said. "Then the sun must have made the Earth. And a tiny
Earth made the sun. And a galaxy made the tiny Earth, and the universe made
the galaxy, and the universe wasn't born, it's always been around."

Problem solved.

My daughter, when six, asked me if a fairy really died when you said
you didn't believe in them (we had just watched Peter Pan).

Trying to ease her pain, I quickly responded, 'honey, fairy's aren't
real.'  Her response?  'Then how does the money get under your
pillow?'

You should have seen me squirm when I realized I just told her the
Tooth Fairy wasn't real.
