My husband and I had an amicable seperaton recently. We downloaded the
seperation agreement from website with $50 and selected several
crucial points relevant to us to list. We split our assets amicably
and both signed. we prepare to divorce after 1 year.

We didn't ask lawyers to sign this, but both signatures are verified
by public notaries to be authentic.

Would you please advise if this method has any legal implications?

Greatly appreciated for your kind help!

That is what my ex and I did.  We were able to fully implement
its provisions, so that, by the time we saw the judge, it had been
fully performed and there was nothing remaining to be done.  Its
a great thing when both parties can behave like adults.

The only problem would be if there was over-reaching or undue
influence by one party over the other, or if there was some fraud
or concealment of a party's financial status.  As long as you both
had ample opportunity to examine the document and consider its
implications, there should be no problem.
