Hi, Im a foster parent of an almost 3 year old boy. He has been with us
almost 2 years and is the light of our lives. Mom has been in and out of
rehab 5 times now and for the second time is MIA and has a bench warrent for
a number of probation violations. Dad is in jail for a felony conviction for
4 to 6 more years. Now DSS wants to move our little boy to be with his
Grandmother. She's 66 years old, has health issues and has custody of  2 to
3 other grandkids. I'm so lost and scared. This little boy doesn't even
remeber his Mom she has seen him so few times and only met his Dad once at 3
months old and once last August at Jail. How can they do this to him? he's
happy, loved, well cared for, completely healthy and thriving.

Hi Vicki, and welcome. This may not be the resource you were seeking.
There are foster specific web sites you might want to go to for support
and information about your issue with the state.

I'm a little confused how you can know about the Grandmother, but not
know the exact number of children she has custody of.

Where was he the first year of his life?

If with his mother, don't trust that he doesn't appear to recognize
her. Children that lose their mother in this way will often shut down
in regards to her to self protect.

Best wishes to you for a good outcome for this child.

Kane
