She's gotten to that point where she KNOWS that if she cries she will be given attention and picked up and played with, etc... so she's started to do the whole "Hey, I'm awake and I want to be played with, so I'm going to cry until someone comes and picks me up and plays with me" thing. My wife and I both recognize this pattern and will not stand for it, so we spent the better part of an hour laying in bed ignoring it... until finally I decided that discipline was necessary. Unfortunately, that meant spanking... but I think I've done well. I kept on swatting her butt (enough to get her attention and maybe sting a little, but no bruises for sure!) every time she would scream in that "I'm very angry right now" scream. (For you non-parents out there, you can tell when it's an "I'm hungry" scream vs a "I'm tired" scream vs a "I'm in pain" scream vs a "I'm angry" scream...) And since Wednesday is my day off, I'm pretty much the one that has to deal with this tonight, so my wife can sleep... Oh my God. 14 weeks divided by 4 weeks in a month. Doing that math, this babe is 3 months old! His name is listed with a picture. I wonder if CkeepPoutSpammers could be called on him? In another thread on that message board started by the same guy, he claims that it was just an experiment to see how people would react. Complains that no one had any proof for him why not to spank an infant, btu had no proof himself why it was OK to do so.
