Hi. Our son will not sit up in his baby bathtub and he has outgrown it.
Should we try a bath ring? a larger tub? Any advice would be really
helpful. Thanks.

By that age I was using the regular bath tub for all the kids. No special
equipment (except for toys, of course).

After Jessica was sitting at about 5 months old, I bathed her in the kitchen
sink  until she was about a year. Saved my back for sure.

By this age, I was bathing the kids in the regular bathtub.  I never
used a bath ring.  I didn't put much water in, so if they didn't want to
sit up, it was no big deal.

If your back or knees won't take it, you can climb into the bathtub WITH
the baby.  I didn't care to do it that way, but lots of folks do that,
too.

Alternatively, you can always give a baby a bath in the kitchen sink.
You'll want to clean it well, both before and after, but I remember
doing that with my baby brother.

I hav been doing this with DS2.  He was a big baby and my wrist was not up to
supporting him in a baby bath after he was about 4mo.  He and I have been
bathing together ever since.  Once I am satisfied he won't slip, he will share
a bath with his big brother.

I put Hunter in the regular tub with no extra stuff.  Luke mostly used the
bath ring at that age.  He moved around more, plus they bathed together.

You can also bath with him.

Like the others, I was using the regular bath tub at that age along with
various toys.

Move to a normal bath and use a rubber suction mat in the bottom so he is
less likely to slide over.

My son has been in a regular tub without any real support, other than me,
since he was about 7 months old. I believe an 11 month old would love to be
able to play in the water. At 9 months, my son now crawls and splashed in
the tub. He loves bath time and has a blast playing with the water and his
toys. Just teach him not to stand up, but let him play. If you're right
there, as any parent should be, he'll be safe and will have a great time.
