Stephanie - 22 Feb 2007 19:14 GMT Everyone knows Shake Your Sillies Out. I can think of a number of other action song, like Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. We use them every day. Can anyone think of any more? Thanks

I used to do "There were X number in the bed, and the little one said, "Roll Over, Roll Over".

Fourteen men in a boardinghouse bed Roll over, roll over They all rolled over when anyone said Roll over, roll over One man thought it would be a great joke Not to roll over when anyone spoke In the confusion he got his neck broke Roll over, roll over
Thirteen men in a boardinghouse bed ...
I can see from the elementary-school reading assignment thread that this one won't go over big in day cares nowadays.

[quoted text clipped - 14 lines] >I can see from the elementary-school reading assignment thread that this >one won't go over big in day cares nowadays. That wasn't the way I sang it. It was (because I had four children)
There were 4 in the bed, and the little one said Roll over, Roll Over And they all rolled over, and one fell out.
There were 3 in the bed, and the little one said Roll Over, Roll Over And they all rolled over and one fell out
There were two in the bed and the little one said Roll Over, Roll Over And they all rolled over and one fell out.
There was one in the bed and the little one said Good Night

London Bridge Is Falling Down The Ants Go Marching One By One ... (just have them march around and around while they chant, and with any luck you'll tire them out.)

joni - 27 Feb 2007 06:05 GMT > Trying not to repeat what has already been given 'Shake Your Sillies Out' is by Raffi who also does some other good ones like: 'Five Green Speckled Frogs' (sat on a speckled log eating the most delicious bugs yum yum) 'Brush Your Teeth' (when you wake up in the morning ..) He also does a great version of 'The Wheels On The Bus'(which was already mentioned).
Fred Penner does 'Do Your Ears Hang Low' or 'There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly' (I dont know why) with great actions to the lyrics. For sound effects the 'Car Car Song' and 'If You're Happy and You Know It' for clapping and sing along.
One other action favorite of mine was 'Im A Little Teapot' (short and stout, here is my handle, here is my spout)
Altho not an action song, my grandsons favorite is 'Baby Beluga' by Raffi. :-)
