Some days are diamonds. Some days are bark mulch. Most days are regular asme
ol' same ol'. This Thursday we celebrate 15 years of marriage.

I love him even mroe than when we married. I hope we make it to thirty!

Thought I would report since this *is* a marriage newsgroup.

I hope you do, too, Stephanie. I will always feel envious (?) or some
sort of pang (?) that I will never be one who sees a 30th, or even a
15th...

Congrats! Many more happy years!

Congratulations from me too.  On the good days, we see the "big picture",
and it is definitely worth having.  I have that vision even in the
blackest phases of depression.

Listing death notices isn't that exciting, but seeing all the lines with
"60+ years married," is, even if those lines don't get indexed.  Marriage
is still very much in fashion, because it is our access to the love that
"makes the world go around."  Writers from all eras (e.g. Hesiod, about
9th c. B.C., and Lucretius in the 1st c. B.C.)    have seen love as the
greatest creative force in the Universe.

I believe in Love and in Loving. I am pondering where to practice and
enjoy this creative force since obviously the whole marriage thing
didn't work out--and I won't be trying again. Mostly I tell myself if
I keep my eyes open, I'll see the places at the right time--I'm not
ready yet--still rather in "convalescent" (sp?) role after being
enmeshed in such a sick relationship for so darn long.

Thanks, wellwishers.

Congratulations!

And remember to think about the diamonds on those days that are bark mulch.

What is bark mulch for you?  Are these days when you're having a
disagreement (or fight), or days when you feel that being married
isn't so great?

My 24th anniversary is this December. Granted, there have been times
(not many) when we have had a disagreement (or fight), but they
usually last less than a day, followed by each other apologizing.
However, we adore each other, and neither one of a can conceive of a
life with out each other (or with anyone else).

I guess we're lucky.

Congrats!  17 years here.  We are almost the same vintage.

Are you happy for the most part? You seem to be... with some glitches along
the way.

Yes, we are happy for the most part.  We are a bit distant at the
moment, which I don't like.  But I think we are making progress.

I've always thought of 17 as a magical number. :) Enjoy this year!
