In another lesson about how one's day can turn on a
dime, I was anticipating a fun weekend trip to NYC
while driving home this afternoon and had the sudden
misfortune to rear-end a guy.  Naturally, his vehicle
suffered scratches, while my front-end crumpled. The
highlight was that, while talking to the officer, a similar
crash occurred in nearly the same place.  So there
were two of us were waiting for tow-trucks.  As they
say, misery loves company. :-(

:-/  Dang, Rog.  Well, try to make the best of your weekend anyway.

Hubby is planning a 2 day trip to DC to see the cubs Play -- overnight
in a hotel and do the touristy stuff.  Kids and in-laws will be along,
so it's not a romantic getaway, but should be fun anyway!

I hear you.  Last month, I put gas in a bensine tank and payed almost
$400 for the clean job.  Last week, I missed $ 300 in the most stupid
way one can imagine... in both situations I was OK physically and
realized that is it just money and we can always get money...

there's no guarantee in anything

When one is focused on immediate challenges, like how to
get to work, and 2d guessing why was I too cheap to get
rental reimbursement coverage, its kinda hard to remember
that a year from now, this will alll be but a memory.  =R=

I am really starting to believe crap days to be in direct correlation
with good days.  Don't know if you ever saw the Seinfeld episode about
Jerry being even steven.  Recently when I started my project and was
on cloud nine then husband knocked me back down to reality.  The thing
is, if you believe this when you have a good day you will worry about
what will let you down soon.  Or, like you and your crappy day, you
have something good to look forward to.  Don't know.  Just a thought.

Sorry Rog!  Been there, done that.  My advise is forgive yourself.

Yeah ... great advice; also the reason most keep making the same
mistakes over and over; not thinking about what their doing - like
driving the car.  He could have killed himself or another.

Ugh car accidents suck.  Given the horrid results (of far too many) of
them; it looks like you were lucky.  I've been in a couple of
accidents, both times with one of my kids and both times, neither were
my fault.  Both ended up as "totals" and our lives were spared.  There
are far too many fatalities and serious injuries so one almost expects
to get at least injured.  I'm glad you're okay!

Sorry for your accident; and glad you were not hurt, or harm anyone
else.  Keep in mind - some one could have been killed.  Don't forgive
yourself to quickly.

At least you were all alright.  Having spent a few years on the
volunteer fire dept and quite often having to work wreck scenes, I
tend to be overly cautious - most times.  Everyone slips up some
times.  Learn from it and move on - hopefully to a pleasant weekend.
