I started a post to see if I could get some help with my life at this point
as a married person. I know that having children young may have a great
impact on my married life but as I have said in my post, thats all I wanted
was help with the married life....I know what parental classes are because I
have been to them for a year. and yes I have learned things and Im sure I
will learn something new every day as a new mom and when they grow up and
move out....I wanted help with my husband not with my child...thats why I got
defensive because I hear the same thing every day "How old are you??? your
married??? you have a child allready??? your too young for that arnt you???"
Thats all I hear every day of my life when I go to the store and they see my
rings...or I always hear "oh you have some cute little brother and I have to
tell them the difference!!!! that HARD for me to do when I see them look at
me with disgust in their eyes.....so coming in here I thought that maybe I
wouldnt be looked at like...some people seem to understand me, but others
just seem to want to talk about how Im so young with a child!!!! I here that
alllllll the time and Im sick of it. I am sorry about what I said and how I
said it...it was not mature of me and I hope you understand where Im coming
from with this
Thank you for all the help

Others?? No, you just mean AY, who likes to toy with people as part of a
game. So don't let it get to you. He's got his own issues and problems,
and likes to take it out on others.
And probably a few of us do that, at least at some point in time!

At least you can laugh at yourself. That's an improvement. Now work
on your spelling.

Nope. It happens from time to time.

Don't feel bad, Tara, and don't let those people that question you or
look at you funny get to you. Truthfully, a lot of those people might
be a little jealous. If not now, in time they will be. Like I said
in an earlier post, I am just starting out with my children in my mid
30s. When they leave to go to college, I will be in my mid 50s.
You.....you will be the age I am now, when your kids are college
aged. Hey, I'm jealous. You are young enough and have the energy
enough to keep up with your kid and any more to come. When they are
grown, you will still be young and have lots of energy and many years
to enjoy grandchildren and the like.

Eh, I was pregnant at 17 and UNMARRIED. I understand a bit of what you're
feeling! I had 2 children by the time I was 20(one was days before my 20th
bday). I have come such a long way since then, one of the kids is a teenager
now and neither one of them are damaged. Nowadays, the thought of having
children in my late 20's or later is horrifying to me... I don't condone
having kids at such a young age, but when it happens it's happened and the
age thing needs to be left out. I've met really crappy new moms in their
30's.
Really, all the bumps smooth out over time. Don't worry so much about how
others see you. Sue seems to be one of the most sensible and level-headed
parents I've come across, she probalby wasn't thinking of your age at all
when giving advice about taking classes. Alot of parents do that for social
time, or just for some help.
And just so you can hear a different point of view about this- many women
who go on about how young you are...were young moms themselves, in a
less-forgiving time. You're not going to hear about that part. I don't know
how many times some old lady has tsked about something at me, and then I
find out she did the *same thing*. Hell, my own mom got pregnant at 15, then
when I was older she gave me the idea that pregnant teenagers were horribly
sinful and should be ashamed.
