does anyone know of that website that tells you about movies in terms of
children, ie; do they contain swaering/violence, etc etc.

specifically, my 7 yo is desperate to see the transformers movie, has anyone
seen it?

i am very dissapointed that they make a movie about kids toys rated M!

Yahoo is usually pretty good with consumer reviews and everything.

www.screenit.com

Can use IMDB to search for the Transformers reference then go to External
reviews (On lefthand side).
Screenit should be on the list.

Looks like it's still too new. Hasn't been reviewed. I'm sure it will be.

http://www.pluggedinonline.com is a good site.  It is run by Focus on
the Family.  They just mention stuff like how many swears/ nudity/
violence/ Religious content.

The ratings here in Aus are weird. DH has been going through a spate of
hiring movies, and he has a hard time finding PG that are worth viewing.
Most of the movies rated M should actually be PG. I think maybe the PG
rating should be split into PG and Scareable Kids. Then most of the movies
hired could go back into PG were they belong - i.e. no sex, no violence,
extremely moderate swearing. From the previews of Transformers it should go
into PG, although all those machines raising out of the ground and
everywhere can be a bit on the dark side.

just my 2c

Although Transformers isn't on her site yet since it hasn't been
released...

Also Known As: Transformers: Prime Directive

Production Status: In Production/Awaiting Release

Genres: Action/Adventure, Science Fiction/Fantasy and Adaptation

Running Time: 2 hrs. 20 min.

Release Date: July 3rd, 2007 (wide)

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, brief
sexual humor and language.

Well the rating is pg-13 do to language, and sexual humor... Soo I guess it
depends on if it innuendos or outright sexual humor. that would be more of a
concern.

If you read misc.kids or rec.arts.movies.reviews, Steve Rhodes gives very
good reviews and outlines what each movie contains and who he feels it would
be appropriate for (he's also a dad of teens). I've saved a lot of money
reading his reviews, by waiting for the dvd instead of  going to the
theater!
