i'm not sure about that... it has some good vendors, but it
tends to a lot of typical cheap crap of the flashy, brightly
colored, fall-apart-before-you-get-home type stuff that
attracts children & causes lots of screaming fits if mom & dad
refuse to buy it <g>. ever since Boo was twoish, we've
carefully looked at whatever cheap bit of crap that has caught
his eye & pointed out *why* it's not really a good toy. while
i have bought a couple stupid things for him, they've all
predictably fallen apart, as i warned him, so we don't have
much of a problem with that. he's really attracted to the guy
that sells minerals & fossils (who talks to a 7 year old
without talking down!) & the woman who sells wooden toys (he
bought a popgun). we'll be going back Sunday & i think he
might get an ammonite or a trilobite from the fossil guy.
another fun thing is he's not only tall enough to go on the
"scary" rides, he's big enough to go on most of them by
himself. i love rides, but i'm limited by my fluid in the ears
thing to rides that don't spin (so it's pretty limited :p ).
unfortunately, i had to tell him Liam won't be able to go on
some of Boo's favorites, because he's not tall enough yet
(he's 5).
> Enjoy Liam. Drop in if you can!
oh, i do. he's a very sweet little boy. :)

I did not realize that. Maybe I'm better placed where I am, at least this
year. Next year, who knows, although if today is anything on which to base
next year, I'll be back.

We instituted the same course with DS and he tends to by-pass the cheap
stuff now, too.

;-) DS hasn't been to a fair with rides since we left Florida. He pestered
about going to Rutland State Fair in August, but the timing was very poor so
we didn't go. That would have been a Ride Opportunity, iykwim. Since he's
nearly my height now [ack!] he could ride nearly anything, which would be
somewhat of a relief to me because I don't like rides that drop out from
under you like roller coasters and husband doesn't do rides.
