I sleep with an oscilating fan on at night and at some point the fan
stopped working yet the button was still on. I woke to use the loo and
I could smell plastic melting and I checked the fan because I noticed
it wasn't on and the motor in the back was melting the plastic!  I
unplugged it immediately and and woke my Dh.  He took it outside and we
opened all the windows.  If I hadn't woke up, our house could have
caught fire!  How scary!!!

Thanks, we are a bit shaken.  I'm so glad I woke up, Bug and I would
not have a way out had it caught fire.  Time to make an escape plan.

Thanks Nan!  We have one but considering what happened last night I
