that's WAY too much bleach! no more than 1 cup per gallon for
disinfecting & removing mildew.
if it smells of mildew, it's not something that happened
since yesterday. mildew doesn't multiply *that* quickly. it
takes a few days. the moisture may have reawoken latent mildew
however.
which line is leaking? is it at one of the faucet connectors
or the line itsself? the install instructions on faucets say
to run each line (hot & cold) seperately for 5 minutes to
check for leaks. there's a reason for doing so. the connectors
will leak if they are tightened too much, as well as if they
are not tight enough.
i replaced the kitchen faucet & sprayer last time i was at
the trailer (2 weeks ago). tomorrow when we go down, i'll be
replacing the drain pipes to the kitchen sink. the dolt
previous owner installed the drains upside down!

The old faucet had leaked and caused some damage to the counter top
behind the sink. Dh's thinking was that we're planning to replace the
entire thing (cupboards and countertop) in the spring so he wasn't in
a rush. But there was already old damage.

It looks like it's at the connector for the incoming cold line. I
need to get some new batteries at the dollar store too, so I can get a
better look. If I can't get it tightened correctly I'll have dh do it
when he gets home from work.

The guy that owned this place didn't know much about installation of
things or fixing things, either. I've had to repair/replace a lot of
his mess ups in the years I've lived here.

Should have added, my flashlight needs batteries... not the faucets

I always use 1/2 and 1/2 for cleaning, works for me.

Yeah, I've been using my Lysol mold and mildew spray from the bathroom
under there. Truth be told, the old faucet had been leaking and it
was already kind of yucky under there. I'd be afraid to pull up the
cheap linoleum and see what the floor is *really* like. Dh tends
to.... procrastinate on fixing things until I get frustrated enough.
