aula - 15 May 2008 01:20 GMT Hi guys
Been a while. I see familiar names. I hope everyone is doing well. I thought I'd drop in and say hi.
The boy person is no longer the short person. Nearly 13 years old, almost as tall as me. Braces on teeth, cast on right arm. He wears shoes too big for me, lol.
Work is awful. The other supervisor retired on Jan. 1 and the higher higher ups have left the position unfilled. I am just a tad overwhelmed. Vacation next week might help my sanity.
So what is happening in your worlds?
Oh yeah, and I've been stuck in travian world......don't join me unless you intend to become an addict.

I almost never post any more since spamworld has taken over, just do not have the energy to try! All is well here with us, I am still a hospice nurse, love it especially since I am part time. Caroline is almost in 7th grade, playing school softball, basketball, volleyball, and running track. Also on a traveling softball team that keeps us on the road from March to August. Clare (rising 8th grader!) is doing competition cheerleading with school; practices year 'round. She is quite flippy-dippy!
DH has taken up gardening, has a one acre garden with the usual tomatoes, cukes, peppers, squash, etc, and for some reason known only to him, a 2 acre pumpkin patch. Quite scary....last year the drought got most of them but I am truly petrified for this year, I may be sitting by I-75 on the back of the truck selling punkins all fall!!!
Sorry work is so rough for you, I hope you have a refreshing vacation! Beth

It is so amazing how fast these kidlets grow! I remember your girls as such tiny young things and to hear this is just astounding. It sounds like they are having a grand time and growing up just like they ought.

aula - 15 May 2008 10:40 GMT > 'Nuff snow for you this winter? > > (tee hee...) OH geesh! Talk about snow! We have about four feet of snow in the yard at any given point all winter. By the late winter the boy could easily climb onto the garage roof from the accumulated stuff against it and some of the first floor windows were partly hidden by the piles that had slipped from the roof! I was so so so glad to see spring finally ease in. Now, I have bleeding heart, forget me nots, english primroses and such blooming throughout the yard. Phew!

:-( I hope your vacation is restful!
>So what is happening in your worlds? Well, E is 8 and will end her 2nd grade career on the 29th. A is 4 and we're looking forward to having her go to preschool this fall. Both lovely girlies but they sure like to annoy each other ;-)
My ds W is now 24, still in the Army and his unit is gearing up for deployment <SIGH>. The bright spot is he's planning to propose to his girlfriend of 3 years :-)))
We're fixing up the house as time and budget allows this spring and summer. I'm looking forward to tackling the kitchen!
Glad to see you pop in!

Driver's license stuff would start in less than three years if i have that calculated correctly. He goes into seventh grade in the fall, homeschool eval in about a month. Where have the years gone?

It seems just a day ago that you were back from the hospital with E. Phew! And didn't we just arrive in Vermont? Aw, but we are ageless and that is a good thing.

Is his deployment to the sandbox or elsewhere? I've got a nephew going into naval training sometime in the next month. I can understand your concerns. And you've so btdt before on this. I seem to recall you liked the fiance. That is a really nice bright spot.

The break has helped my tolerance levels of spam. Don't know about flamewars y et, but hey. My travian game is on break and will resume in a little more than a week, only doing behind the scenes work at the moment. I have met some marvelous folks through the games there but they cannot replace my alt.moms friends. JJ still around?

I cannot believe your son is 13 already.
My grandkids are growing up too.
Dgd is almost 6 and will be in first grade next year, We are doing a *flat child* project with her this summer with some online friends from another board. She had fun making her flat self and is waiting for the packet so she can see what she needs to do.
Dgs is 4 now. He is still pretty quiet and not talking much, but he does talk more than he did. He was very funny yesterday when I booted the computer. He watched the screen and pointed to the colors of the windows logo and was naming them *black, blue, red, green, yellow* ;)
I am very busy - I moderate an online yahoo group for parents of children with autism and have a meetup group for autism in our area.
I hope they fill your supervisors position soon (maybe they will promote you?)

What is that all about? he he he he I am glad to hear your darling grand kids are doing so well. I know they are the apple of your eye.
As to work, I would avoid a promotion like the plague because I like regular hours. What I'd really love, especially as gas prices creep to four dollars/gal., is to find a position closer to home. I'm driving 37 miles one way to the office. Even in my saturn that is a tank every four days. The raise I just got is eaten up with that. And I don't even want to think about the heating fuel pre buy we are about to do for next season's heating.
Ah well. At least the sun is up and the hummingbirds are visiting the neighbor's quince whiel I'm typing. Me and the cat are having a lovely time watching them.

Yes, your DS must be about 6 months older than my daughter, over 5'6" and sure doesn't look her age, makes me worry a bit as she is now travelling more by herself to get to and from school and to and from friends. Yes, shoes are almost interchangeable, braces on teeth, no cast tg, how did that happen? High school is going well, a lot more responsibility for own actions and planning being taken, tg. Although DH and I were running around yesterday finding crucial stuff for today, last time, honestly.
Work sounds like a challenge. Yes, also nose to the wheel, shoulder to the grindstone, eye on the main chance, etc, lol With DH similarly engaged ATM life is not much fun, but at least his pain will be over in a week or two until the next project gets to that stage. Despite that, life is a bit easier with far less outflows >= inflows.
DS10 is going well, learning how to take responsbility for his own actions, less of the 'its not my fault' rubbish, and that some decisions only he can really make for himself, so it is interesting times. 18 months to get him ready for high school.
in between that, well into a new x-stitch. Done about 1/9 in three months, so it is going to take a while.
good to hear from you. Marc

I know....this trusting that we've done a good job teaching the kids how to deal with life is a heart in throat thing at times. DS is now allowed to be home alone for a while. He takes it in stride, I get a tad nervous. That's my job tho!
DS broke his arm two weeks ago. He was at a friend's house. Fell a foot off a balnce beam in the back yard but hit a tree root with his elbow. Broke the humerous right above the growth plate. His dominant arm of course. Took us three days to get him to try putting his arm through his sleeve. Now he is running around, not using the sling [which is ok] and being almost his usual rough and tumble self. Kids. lol I could go on for hours about him but won't do it. You guys would go cross eyed and start throwing wads of paper at your monitors. ;p

When DH was cleaning up the area that poor departed pitch black Bugs lived, he found some bread with green stuff on it. Rob went to about a half dozen people (vet, chemist, hardware guy, florist,..) and all agreed - snailbait. Looked over the fence, sure enough neighbours have more around their tiny market garden.
Speaking to them as nicely as possible - yes something brownish had eaten all their just grown lettuces overnight. So they had put snail bait down. How did a 3x 1 inch slab of bread got onto our side, they're very sorry, etc, etc.
Bloody strweth, is it really so difficult to come ask your neighbours to ask is it possible that your rabbit is getting into our yard and look at the animal to see if it is the same as the one you think you saw....
Not a good situation

A 50 lb bag of iodized salt would magically mix into their little patch of dirt in the near future. (Or a fine mist of Round Up would deforest their entire backyard.) Depends how passive aggressive you want to be.

LFM - 20 May 2008 03:32 GMT I haven't been on this computer since march - so that's probably the last time I even looked at this group. Nice to see a post from you and some other familiar faces.
DS is now 14, and will graduate from middle school in a couple of weeks. We are off to the highschool land in August. He is 6' tall and could wear Ronald MacDonald's shoes! You think its tough thinking about driving in a few years.... we are 1.5 yrs away from the learners permit.... Although I just told him the other day he will likely be driving from home to the bus stop to pick the bus up for school. (highschool bus stop is 4.5 miles from home - school is close to 30). We are all looking forward to highschool. We've found a good one for him to go to.
DH and I are going strong. Life is busy, economy sucks and has hit us hard, but we just pursue on.
Oh - and I survived 4 weeks of MIL this year. She called tonight to say they got more snow today! You must be dealing with some cold weather yourself.

So you survived your MIL for four whole weeks! My heavens girl but you are doing well! How are your spoons? Did they move about much in your drawers this time?
My Ds is similarly tall and growing like a weed. Grew 2.5 inches in the last three months. Shoes bigger than mine. We went to Howe Caverns yesterday [upstate NY] and the pics make him my height. lol
Well, time to run again.
