In one of the articles I was reading from AFP this morning on
the Turkey v. Croatia match stated, "in a lack-luster
performance for 112 minutes by both squads..."

The match I saw wasn't "lack-luster" nor pathetic. What match
was that reporter watching?

Perhaps a clueless jeu de boules commentator filling in at the last minute
;-)?

Perhaps... Or simply a sour-grape-swillin' Henry supporter.

I'm sorry that Clockwork Orange wasn't. I was cheering 'em
on...

A lot of reporters who don't know the game automatically label any draw
as 'boring'. They just don't get the idea of an exciting draw. OK, so
the result isn't exciting, it doesn't mean the play isn't.

I have admit to not watching it many games in this tournement. My hearts
just not in it after we didn't get through.

So far I've only watched one game fully, and that was Holland v Italy at
Disneyland Paris. If you want to watch Holland win a game, do it with
2000 of them in front of a huge TV screen, but make sure your not
wearing a blue shirt. Makes for surreal evening in a tide of orange and
Mickey Mouse dancing around

It was an exhibition of SUPERB<!!> ball-handling by both sides!
Passes really were crisp and the showmanship... Ahhhh... So the
score wasn't 27-22! BFD!

DisneyEuro's just a mite too expensive for my surrealist's
budget... But we did it good today, visiting several Dutch
friends' condo's game room.

I just wish that the Russian team wasn't so much better opening
up play and shooting... The Dutch couldn't pay for the ball to
fall in today.

We weren't there for the football, that was a coincidence. Honest.   O:o)

It did sort of take the sting out of not qualifying seeing them play.
The annoying thing is the Russian players don't have any more skill than
any of the England team, they just have more drive and passion. Its the
same thing that helped Greece win it last time. Some of that is playing
for national pride, and some of it is the fact that the less well known
players know this their chance to get noticed on the world stage, and by
the big clubs. While our bunch of overpaid prima donna's have it made
already, so don't need to try. Gah, you almost got me into rant mode.

But its still not as good as a cold January night in Grimsby, with the
snow piling around your ankles, watching Town grind out a 1-0 win*

*maybe lying
