Castle Ranger is so quiet.
Spawn's growing up like a weed, passing every milestone without
ever taking notice.
She's away at camp as of 9am this morning. At the pick-up
point, she walked right up to a group of girls and within six
seconds was in like Flynn. I stood there, marveling at her
social skills, when the silence surrounding me hit like a
sledgehammer to the back of the head. Twenty-five other parents
were quietly watching the girls cut-and-run.
Wow.

I'm jealous. I wish DD3 (age 11) could go away to a camp for a week. Tis
would be lovely.

It's caused us to adjust our summer travel plans accordingly but it's
now her time to blossom. She's also got that impish, effervescent
spark that's powered her through every social event she's ever been
exposed to... People just can help liking her.

Oh that silence. When any three of ours aren't here you fell their special
something missing. I hope that week moves quickly =-)

Daughter-units Alpha and Beta were over at two friends' homes (sleep-
overs) so the silence was so physical it was overpowering. SWMBO and I
went out to dinner and then stopped at a local jazz bar for drinks.
Seems we weren't the only ones in that circumstance.

I so dread the visit this summer Rachel to NC. It has been difficult getting
her to go so this is going to be not just silence and absence but something
painful that I can't explain.
I think I need a drink now just thinking about it.
Hey, it's Saturday, Spawn should be home soon.

Here's a 3-finger Knob Creek Bourbon (neat) for you. That's
helped me.

The really funny thing: SWMBO and I aren't the ones missing her
dearly. <EG>

Wow is right! They grow so fast! I can't believe she's gone to camp!
Do you reckon she'll last the whole week? Or want to come home halfway
through?

She'll easily last the entire week. She quite confident and, often,
much to my annoyance, socially gifted.

"By herself?!" She was surrounded by a posse the likes of which
both Celine and Brittney-Brittney would've envied!
(On a serious note: She came back right before boarding and
told me "not to worry." She'd been "waiting her whole life for
this [bus] ride.")
