I was laughing with SWMBO last night as we enjoyed the Disney movie with all
three daughter-units. It would seem that my daughter-units, at some point in
their family job descriptions decided that each would take on a special task
and master it.
Daughter-unit Alpha is The Nurse. She empathic in her abilities to
understand the level of pain-n-suffering going on with an individual and how
to best handle it. It's almost spooky at times at how she "reads" people.
Daughter-unit Beta is The Technician. If it's got software, if it's an
advanced, state-of-the-art electronic toy, and has a manual that rivals many
unabridged dictionaries, she's the person you want playing with it. She can
happily sit and read a manual, plucking at keys or flipping switches for 30
minutes. At the end of that time she's more capable than many trained
experts. She's the one that set up my home theatre after I couldn't figure
out how to balance out my speakers...
Spawn, as fits her personality, is The Cruise Director. Clan Ranger must
have activities and events cleared through her office prior to their
posting. Should we attempt to circumnavigate the system she's put into
place, The Nurse will be on-hand and The Technician will probably need
calling, too.

They are until you ask one of them to do a job that falls under another's
tasks...
"Spawn, turn off the TV when you leave the boobtube room."
"That's Beta's job."
or my current favorite:
"Beta, go ask Spawn why she's crying."
"Alpha! Dad wants to know why Spawn's crying."
"I didn't do it!"
Don't they know that overspecialization leads to extinction?

They already are... Oh, wait. That's a "c" not a "ph."

It sounds like they took on all the good jobs and left you and SWMBO the
crummy ones; Cleaner, Cook etc!
