To a die hard Linux user (like I consider myself), that question is kind
of blasphemous, even though it's done through ignorance...we penguins
pride ourselves on knowing that we don't have to rely on Windows entirely
for everything we do...and in some cases, not at all. :)
This is the typical type of question when it concerns trying to explain
what I use at home.

Introduce them to cygwin, or something similar. :-)
(personally, I've never used cygwin or anything like it, but I've heard
great reviews from those who insist on using windows machines in
computer science classes. And yes, I see the humour - I'm just trying
to be helpful, if that's at all possible ;-)

LOL...
The only problem with that is...that it doesn't provide a real environment
that you can safely call Linux.
And, it renders the Linux shell vulnerable to Windows viruses and
inconsistencies. (G)
