phone interviews.
I was just phoned by a company I contacted abut jobs that they have....

They asked all of these stupid questions,  I could answer some of em cause I
know I have never been fired but some.... just couldn't give a answer.......

Like why do I want to work with them ?
What was my last job? ( A chef)
Why did I leave it ? (cause I decided there wasn't enough of me running
around LOL nah...boss sold the business and then Im asked why? I dont
know..ask my boss)
Have I ever been fired ? (nope)
When can I not work? (when Im sleeping ?)
Why do I want a physcial demanding job ?
Why do I want to work for this company (name removed) ? I have no idea
How long will I be employed by them ? (you tell me ? )
Am I willing to travel to other stores  ? (hell no... all are 1 hour drive
away in non peak escept the one near me which is 20 mins away)
Will I be sick at all ? (yeah im soo sick I carn't work NOT
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
and many more to last almost 20 mins on the phone
etc....

Im sure I dont have the job and Im going to be on the No sorry your not
needed  list.....
They said they will ring back in 5-7 days to let me know how I went.

How do other people answer those kind of stupid but must need to questions
for job interviews ?

"will i ever be sick?"  what sort of  a stoopid question is that?  perhaps
it was an intelligence test, you were supposed to tell them to get nicked!

good luck with it anyway!

I can't remember when I last had a job interview :-) ( DH is at me to
'help out' in his home business though)
But I do remember how awful they always were!
It was bad enough in person, but at least you could gauge what they wanted
to know by actually seeing the interviewer.
Over the phone would be very difficult, especially with all those stupid
questions.
Like, are you 'planning' on being sick? duh!

good luck finding the job you want/need........

That would make me nuts too Nic...  face to face is bad enough.

Well, some of these are stupid questions, but some are pretty
reasonable, actually, from an employer's point of view.  (which I am,
as it happens)

> Like why do I want to work with them ?
Well, sometimes the reason will make a big difference - sometimes it's
to get a job closer to home, to get new skills, to have a flexible
schedule, on top of the obvious to make money portion.  So, we'll
concentrate on discussing those issues if they are important.  Plus,
we also want to hire people who actually want to work for us
specifically, not just to get money to eat - those people tend to be
much more motivated, and much harder to find.

> When can I not work? (when Im sleeping ?)
Scheduling can be a major issue for some people, and employers need to
know that!  If you are available whenever they can schedule you, that
is a plus!

> How long will I be employed by them ? (you tell me ? )
They phrased that badly, didn't they!

Um, yeah, that was dumb!

Well, one suggestion is to think ahead about some of these, especially
the part about why you want to work for them.  I honestly think that's
the part where you can do the most good for yourself. Good luck!

I don't know.  I just had a job interview and expected questions like that, but
really didn't get any! <g>  I was asked if * I * had any questions, but of
course my mind went blank.  I was hoping to come up with something clever and
insightful, but didn't.  I was just like "Uh...no, I think you all answered all
my questions already."

I felt so stupid...but I guess I did okay because I got the job. :-)
