I just watched it.
After seeing it, it made me wonder what our schools were selling. HOLY
BLOODY HELL!!!!
My old high school averages 1500 calories PER MEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know
many kids that eat three meals a day at that school!!!!
Damn are we living in a fast food nation.

Yeah, too bad the schools have to have corporate welfare to get by
with even minimalist approaches to providing a decent environment for
kids.

It freaking sucks! I just can't believe the crap they serve.
Fries, gravy, cheese, beef...
no salads. no fruit. no vegetables.

Well, that's because there are not Mcfruit corporations that can throw
money at the schools for serving their products.

It's not the schools that is the problem, Weenie.  It's the gub'mint
that keeps slashing the budget.
3.6 million for the 2005-2006 school year has to be cut from a
neighboring county.

While I agree the initiative is a dismal failure, it has nothing to do
with corporate welfare providing money to schools.
There have been junk food vending machines and soda machines in our
local middle and high schools since the mid 80s.   My son's middle
school was serving Taco Bell and Pizza Hut in the mid 90s.  Long
before Shrub et al took over.

Really I've looked at the fat and kcal's for different fast food and it
makes me ill... not to mention the sodium and all that!

Haven't seen the movie but just looking at the nutrition charts for fast
food is enough to get me going!

Hey Jen, what do you think of this mother's duty to her child?

Did you notice the McDonalds bag?

Have you heard about "Jamie's school dinners"? It's about a TV chef's
crusade to improve the diets of English youngsters. Really interesting and
he's very passionate about his cause. He's getting the councils and the govt
involved. Maybe someone should start a similar crusade in the US.
