Ciarán has been potty trained since April, and apart from the odd accident
he's been dry at night since then too.
Lately he has been getting up early and changing out of his wet pyjamas
before I even notice, I don't know until I go into his room to make up his
bed, or take notice of which pyjamas he's wearing!
We have the discussion everyday that he's not going to wet the bed again
that night. He is supposed to be going to stay in my parent's house in a
couple of weeks time and he has been told that if this problem isn't sorted
out by then he won't be allowed to go on his sleepover.
I know this is related to Liam being born, but we are at a loss as to how to
sort it out. Ciarán is still getting lots of cuddles and attention and we
have been telling him, as we always do that we love him.
Any suggestions?

I would not make a big deal out of it and I would not tell him he
cannot stay over at grandma's if he isn't dry. You might want to
ask him if he would like to go back to pullups at night time for a
while until he can stay dry though.

If hes only needing one change a night and he wont wear pull ups how
about making a bed sandwich for him, ie protector, sheet, protector
sheet. Then he can handle pulling off a layer himself when he wets. He
still is very young and bed wetting is so normal I wouldnt stress it at
all. I think its mean of grandma to not let him sleepover if hes
wetting, children so cant help it when they are asleep.

It's normally in the morning when he wets so although the bed sandwich is a
good idea, there isn't any point as he just gets up and goes downstairs.
I was looking for suggestions on how to get him to stop wetting!
And I don't think my mum is being mean at all, she is being good enough to
take him for an overnight visit I'm not going to expect her to do a clean
up. Even if she was ok with him going I would probably still wait until he
was dry at night. He would be sharing my 12 yr old
brother's bed so I doubt it would be very nice on him either.

Aw thanks Sarah, I just couldn't have it said that she's mean!
Lol! *I* can say bad things about my mother but nobody else can, my dh gets
that all the time........it must be a complicated mother daughter thing.
Anyway Sarah, thanks for the suggestions........it looks like I am just
going to have to grin and bear this phase and hope things improve, as
there's not much I can *do* to make him stop. He's managed every 2nd night
during the last week.
