While we were waiting for Ks riding lesson to begin, dh made a comment
about micro$oft being the root of the worlds troubles. The chap next to
us agreed. So we started talking about Linux and the merits of
installing it (Ive yet to be converted - just in case it goes horribly
wrong). It was a very cool conversation. lol, turned out that the chap
was Robert Billing who wrote 'teach yourself linux'. Hes said that if I
get the book he'll sign it for me <G>

I am teasing but only regarding the Lotto. I'd already have bought his
book and had him sign it. I have too many Geekfriends that I could lord
it over with a signed copy. <G>

Really - thats way cool!! what a small world!
He keeps his pony at the stables we use.
(I dont play lotto cos I heard you are more likely to be struck by
lightening than win the big one and even though I understand stats, I
dont want to tempt fate lol!)

And you want to know the painful bit?

At the beginning of the conversation I asked him which version of linux
he used. He said red hat but now he was using something or other (I
didnt catch it) and to be polite I asked him how he was finding the
difference between them. No wonder he shrugged off the question with a
'its fine'
