Mo - 28 Jul 2005 09:04 GMT Sent in my marketing case assignments yesterday eve... Now I'm waiting for the verdict, which may take up to three (3!!!!!!!) weeks. The blasted guy might be away on vacation, ack. I'm so not good at waiting, sigh. Of course it's not as if I don't have anything else to do, what with 4 exams in two weeks' time, including one this afternoon. Well, that one I can kiss goodbye even before taking a shot at the exam. Instead of studying for it, I spent all my time working on the marketing case. Even I can do only thing at a time (I have filed motion after motion to chance that, but to no effect. My motions for 48 hour days never took either.), and without proper preparation I have no hope to pass this afternoon's exam. I *had* to finish the marketing assignments, I had no choice. So basically the exam schedule will be 4, 8, 11 and 18th August, the last one being the same as today's.
Still waiting for the guy to respond to my marketing case assignments...<taps on desk>...I think I did good...must have passed...what if this guy indeed takes 3 weeks to get back to me?? Can't sit at my 'puter checking my mailbox all that time.
Anyone got some vibes to spare LOL?
Meanwhile I'm going to try to drag myself away from the computer for a bit, try to have a bit of a look at the economics book for this afternoon's exam.
*Hugs* to everyone who needs them and vibes to everyone who needs those.

Anything that's NOT multiple choice will take weeks... because an actual person has to look at it ;) Hope it'll be worth the wait though! Vibes are on their way... should be there quickly. It's only a short distance and there's no rush hour these days! :D

> Hope it'll be worth the wait though! So do I LOL. If he does indeed take 3 weeks to get back to me, the result should be in around the time when I really must have passed enough courses to sign up for next year. All in all it shouldn't cause an extra delay...unless he doesn't let me pass the case...

On to the final round of exams, screw the official cut off date of 1st August, I will pass enough courses on 8th August at the earliest ;-).

It's a fact that I won't make that date, no exams left this month, only in August. OU chooses to have an official cut off date and an unofficial one, so I'll choose whichever one of those suits me best :-D.

I focused on the part "I will pass enough courses". That sounded good enough in itself ;) Kind of neglected to look at the dates afterwards :D Will they give you a hard time if you reach your target a week late?

> That > sounded good enough in itself ;) Kind of neglected to look at the > dates afterwards :D Will they give you a hard time if you reach your > target a week late? This will be the latest I have ever sent in the form, but I have *never* managed to send in my form before the official date ;-). Last year the unofficial date was even on the website, this year it isn't. I think too many people took the 2004 date as an invitation to wait as long as possible LOL. IIRC the unofficial date is 20th August or even the 23rd, so I should be OK.
Meanwhile still no sign of life whatsover from the marketing management case guy, grrr. With my luck he will have left for a 3 week holiday two days before I sent in the assignment.

Sounds like it. Besides, by announcing unofficial dates (a sign of weakness, I think :p) they created a precedent. "By when do we have to pass our courses?" "By date X" "Awwwww.... do we HAVE to?" "Nahhh... it's really date X+20, but we like to give our students a hard time" Doesn't make them look too well ;)

As the guy in the commercial says: "Life is all about priorities." It's just a shame that his don't match yours ;)

>>> Will they give you a hard time if you reach your >>> target a week late? [quoted text clipped - 13 lines] > hard time" > Doesn't make them look too well ;) No, it doesn't. Of course it's convenient for me, but I only have problems with the official cut off date because of other OU rules clashing with that one. It's all their fault :-p. Meanwhile there are other cut off dates (like those for signing up for exams) that *are* applied rigidly. There you get the 'you snooze, you loose' attitude.
It takes a degree just to get through the jungle of OU rules LOL.

It's just a shame that his don't match yours ;) LOL, yeah they never seem too. Meanwhile I have emailed OU to ask them to tell me whether he is in or not and if not, when he'll be back. It's funny, my fellow student had to point out this possibility to me. I've been struggling with OU for so many years that I seem to have forgotten that trying to communicate with them is actually an option as well ;-).

Heh heh... why don´t you mix it up a little bit? How do you say "alles met mate" in English? "All in good measure?" Hm, not sure :p

Maybe THAT should count as a test in itself... I have a feeling you are SO experience in that area, you would pass it with flying colors. Maybe even teach the OU people some of their own rules ;)

Oops... what did I just say about you passing that "Understanding OU" test? :p ;)

How do you say "alles > met mate" in English? "All in good measure?" Hm, not sure :p I think that would be it, yes. But since I am nearly 3,000 AM posts behind, I think I am going to have to wait until I can do a proper catch up ;-). Otherwise I might just find myself responding to posts which have long been updated.

I have a feeling you > are SO experience in that area, you would pass it with flying colors. I think you might just be right there LOL. I can be a regular PITA where the rules are concerned. Anything they say and do can and *will* be used against them. My college years ended with my hiring a lawyer, so OU should be carefull ;-). I twice beat Schoevers with the help of my lawyer as well :-D. Halftime score: Mo versus educational institutes 3-0, do they really want to take me on LOL?
> Maybe even teach the OU people some of their own rules ;) I'm mostly several steps ahead of them ;-). They absolutely hate my 'what if' questions. I just want to explore all possible scenarios beforehand, whereas their idea of a plan for the future is thinking what they are going to have for lunch in about 5 minutes <rolls eyes>.

With my luck he will have left for a 3 [quoted text clipped - 12 lines] > Oops... what did I just say about you passing that "Understanding OU" > test? :p ;) Boohoo, but this wasn't about rules :-(. I mostly avoid communicating with 'Heerlen' altogether, which is why the thought never crossed my mind. I did know I am *allowed* to email them ;-). In fact, I'm going to put another matter before them tomorrow, should be interesting. Since I am now barely able to write by hand, I want to be allowed to type my answers to my next exam on one of the OU's computers.
(My idea of solving an OU problem: 'Here's the problem, this is my solution, now why haven't you said yes already?!')

Caroline - 29 Jul 2005 00:28 GMT heard anything about them changing math to an elective??? Sorry I have been MIA a little lately..

I wasn't planning on spending so many consecutive months on exams, exams and exams, believe me. No news on the math problem, but that's mainly because I decided it was *not* a good idea to start that battle while I was in the middle of my exams. I know myself, if an unfavourable answer would come back, it would distract me massively and I cannot have that happening. Next to that I would have to officially appeal such an answer and that takes loads of time and effort (not to mention stress) and I barely have time to breathe these days. So basically it's exams first and then enter the math battle ground.
Meanwhile I study, apparently I exist ;-).
(not too sure though...that I actually exist LOL)
