Eleven years ago, Daughter-units Alpha and Beta came kickin' and screamin' into Real Life® -- starting that rollercoaster rollin' at 3am. I plan on reminding them of this at the appropriate time. Happy birthday to both and many more! For some reason I thought they were turning 12 this year - as I thought they were a bit older than my DS - not almost a year younger. She had a seventh grader walk her out to my car -- for "safety" reasons he said -- the second day of school! (I just can't wait for that first dance I've volunteered to chaperone...) ALthough at this age there's a safety net--none of them can drive themselves to or from the dance. (Can you pretend you're a hired chauffeur?)
