Getting Just the Tiniest Bit Irritated

DS's doctor dx him with ADD.  No surprise there.  She wrote a scrip for him.
Went to regular pharmacy.  They didn't have it.  They called a different
branch.  Didn't have it.  I went to Major Pharmacy.  Didn't have it.  Next
day tried Walgreens.  They had it.  Insurance didn't cover it and it was
$100+ out of pocket.  Got home called the ins co. got snotty CS rep. no
help.  Called doctor's office.  "We'll give you a new scrip but it will have
to be on friday as doc is off tomorrow.  Okay.  Fine.  Get a call from doc's
today.  Scrip is ready.  Go get it.  Take it to pharmacy next door to
office.  They don't carry it.  Went back to Walgreens.  Again they say ins
won't cover it.  $83+ out of pocket this time.  Get in car and go back to
doc's office.  Nurse says that ins co told her it was on the approved list.
Calls pharmacy and asks them to double check the info entered into computer.
Go back to Walgreens and they do this.  Still no.  Get home and call doc's
again and told her they still wouldn't do it.  Waiting for a call back from
her.  Probably won't be able to do anything about this until next week
though.    Just the *tiniest bit* irritated.

mad.""How do you know I'm mad?". said Alice."You must be," said the Cat,"or
you wouldn't have come here.".

What drugs are they prescribing that are so hard
to find and not covered?  (Email if you don't mind saying
but just don't want to post it, and apologies for asking
if you'd prefer to keep it private.)

Best wishes,
Ericka

I don't mind at all.  Not a state secret.  lol  The first one they
prescribed was Focalin XR.  The ins co won't authorize it until/unless all
other state acceptable meds have been tried.  That one *was* and honest
mistake as the doc thought it was on the list.  The second one is Metadate
CD.  That one *is* on the list. Just after I posted I got a call back from
the nurse.  She, may God forever bless the ground she walks on, had a coupon
for a FREE 30 day supply of the second one.  DS and I went and picked it up
and got the scrip filled.  She told me that the ins co had called her back
and told her that DS wasn't a member!  /picks jaw up off floor  Just tried
calling the ins co and their phones are messing up due to Rita.  I'm to try
again in a few minutes.  Although the way I'm feeling it might be a good
idea to wait until Monday to do this.  lol

Glad things worked out!  Good luck with the whole
process--keep in mind that finding the right drug and dose
can take a whole lot of work, so fasten your seatbelt and
keep working until you get a situation that is truly
satisfactory.

Best wishes,
