I had the telly on this morning while I was decorating. They did a live
vasectomy on it - not sure what I think about that, I think they were
doing it in the name of education. It was all pretty discrete in that
they had green paper hiding everything apart from a pink area.

But goodness!!! The local anaesthetic didnt work properly and the bloke
kept saying ouch and visibly flinching and the surgeon kept saying very
calmly 'oh thats causing you a problem' and squirting a bit more
anaesthetic in! then carrying on with his conversation with the
presenter whilst doing the surgery. It was rather eye opening!

dont think it would have encouraged many men to get one done :-/

No I don't think there was much point in that?!  Maybe getting the wives to
push their hubbies into it?

Okay sarah... alert me.  I was eating and nearly lost my lunch... not
because it was gross but because the image got me laughing so hard I was
spewing!

LOL!

Any idiot that lets them broadcast it live gets what they deserve!

OUCH!

<BG> It was pretty funny in a very wincing sort of way, I really thought
they were going to cut to adverts!!

> Any idiot that lets them broadcast it live gets what they deserve!

Absolutely!! ROFLMAO afterwards the Im sure I heard the presenter say
that the man had explained that he did tend to have a sensitive thingy
(didnt quite hear what they were saying as I was wrestling with lining
paper at the time) and that could have caused the problem. If I heard
right I bet he *never* lives that one down.

Its a warm cream, very soothing but not very exciting. The carpet will
be a warm beige and I'll see if I can get some burgundy colours for
things like curtains and bedcovers.

but lol!! Im just recovering from a bout of overconfidence. I decided to
seal round our windows with silicone sealant this afternoon. Ive seen it
done on telly and it looked easy so I thought Id have no problem. I got
a nice tube of sealant (one of the no gun ones) and started. Before Id
even blinked a huge sausage of sealant had erupted from the tube. I
panicked and wiped it with my fingers. Before Id blinked a second time
both of my hands were covered in sticky irremovable sealant.

Then the phone rang.
Now why i picked it up Im not sure, but after half a conversation I
realised the phone was now glued to my hand and my hair stuck to the
phone. I gave my apologies, pressed the off button and unpealed the
phone from my hands and hair.

hot water made it worse.
I scraped the sealant away from the instructions on the tube and read
that I should use white spirit. The white spirit was in the garage.

So now Ive spent half an hour removing sealant from hands, phone, taps
and various door handles. I need a cup of tea!

Oh ugh... sounds like something I'd do I tell ya.  /somber memories!  The
image is a bit funny though.  Did you get it all off?  I hope the tea helped
soothe!  Throw in some chocolate for good measure!

Oh my.  If dh had seen that he'd probably nix the idea of getting one!
That reminds me of those "Baby Story" shows on TLC.  Good grief
almighty, one could be put off having a baby after watching that.

<G> Ive been itching to talk it over but I darent tell dh what happened
so I had to phone a friend <G>

The video we were shown at the antenatal classes was enough to put me
off giving birth - unfortunately it was a bit late to do anything about
it by then :-/

ROTFL!
Same with my class, during my first pregnancy.  I was a young 20-year
old already nervous, and I had to see that!

Gee - DH's procedure was minor and pain free for him.   The dr did give him
a local, and was talking to him thru the whole thing.

As DH put it - the anxiety leading up to it was the worse of all.  He said
the 2 valium they gave him weren't enough to take the anxiety away.   But
the afteraffects were nothing, and he didn't quite understand why he was so
uptight about it.

Heh.  This reminds me of having a doctor talk during a Gyno exam....
LOL!

I'm like that about dental procedures.  I get myself all worked up and
it turns out not to be as bad as I feared.  And then I repeat the
process next time, LOL.
