What a lovely day it was

Yesterday was Katherines 6th birthday :) Its hard to imagine that 6
years ago I had such a tiny precious bundle that I was scared of
breaking. Now she is such a lovely kind confident young girl and I love
her so!

After fridays party we kept things calmer yesterday. After she had
opened her presents we took her to her riding lesson. Then from there we
went iceskating. It was her first time and dh and I havent been for
about 12 years. What a laugh it was, I cant remember the last time I
laughed so much. Katherine - bless her - had absolutely no natural
aptitude. It took her and dh 15 minutes to do the first lap <G> It took
me ages to get my confidence back so I could get away from skating by
the side. In the end though we managed to arrange it so that we could
each take one of Katherines hands and drag her along without too many
catastrophes. It was brilliant fun :)))

In the evening we went out to a chinese restaraunt as its Katherines
favourite food. We let her be in charge and do the ordering for us which
thrilled her. What was slightly embarrassing was a 6 year old eating
crispy seaweed with chopsticks. It went everywhere including her hair :-/

Still cant believe shes 6 already.

Time sure does go fast.  We just got together with another couple
who had evacuated (They are now living in the area, but not close
enough to get together on any regular basis).  The baby who was
so tiny is now a year old...   My goodness.

Happy Birthday, K.
