NTL!
I connect to the internet via NTL cable. When we moved into this house,
I very quickly spotted NTL cables already present, so with low
expectations,I attached my modem etc, and lo, it worked! So I called NTL
the following morning and the conversation went thus:
me: Hi, I'm just calling to let you know about my change of
address...the new house has all the NTL cables in place, I've tried
them, and it all works, so I just need to let you know?
ntl: OK. When would be a good day for our installation engineer to call?
me: Erm, I don't think I need the engineer, it all works?
ntl: I'll make a note that it's working but we have to do it as a new
installation
me: oookaaaay
ntl: So shall we say (she gave me a date here that I didn't note down lol)
me: ookaaaaay
ntl: How would you like the engineer to contact you? By text message or
email(!)?
me: errrrmmm maybe text would be best?
ntl: So the engineer will contact you on the da to confirm what time he
wil be there.
me: But do I need an engineer to call when it's working? Can I not just
use it?
ntl: Yes it's fine to use it. The engineer will be in touch! Thanks for
calling!
I'm not even going to tel you how the conversation went when it came to
arranging cable TV. Suffice to say, I decided mid conversation that I
don't need it after all. ROFL!
