I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

I *finally* got what I've been asking for each Christmas, birthday,
anniversary, and every other occasion - the family together and GETTING
ALONG PEACEFULLY and enjoying each other's company.

Our Armenian exchange student was amazed at the number of gifts to
give.  She's from a small family - her mother, sister, and herself.
Here, there are seven of us in the house, so even if only half of us
buy 1 gift each for everyone else, there are a lot of gifts.  One of
the cool things is that with them having their own spending money and
all that, Chewy and I are down to buying them each a single gift, and
everyone else also buys gifts, so there are plenty to go around.

Our German student is a bit antsy because the gifts he had his mother
send from Germany haven't arrived yet, but I keep telling him that's
OK, we don't mind having multiple Christmases.  ;-)

Of course, I purchased my own present from Chewy.  I've been needing a
laptop to be able to do my online paperwork whenever I've a bit of time
in my "hurry up and wait" life.  There've been far too many times that
I've gotten to McD's when the kids are supposed to be getting off, only
to have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for them to finish up.  But that
also means that I'll have to get in there and get it all done.  ;-)
Actually, I'm hoping that when I'm doing in-home interviews, I can get
most of the input done *at* the interviews now, instead of having to
wait until I get home, then trying to get it done while other
responsibilities call.

Since Christmas has been a tiring time.  We got a phone call Monday
afternoon asking if we would take a half-dozen bottle babies, then got
another call yesterday morning for another half-dozen.  Needless to say
that means very little sleep.  Then, of course, Chewy's "on call" this
week and *somebody* decided they had to do some upgrades in the middle
of the night the past THREE nights, so when we weren't getting up for
babies, Chewy was getting up for work.  Thankfully for me, YD sent me
to take a nap this morning.

YD and our Armenian student have decided that we're doing an
anniversary party Saturday evening.  It's our 6th anniversary!

OK, gotta go.  wanted to write more, but I've sick 1 day-old ram lamb
on my lamp that I'm determined to save.

OI!  Just noticed what I wrote before: "I've sick 1 day-old ram lamb on

my lamp that I'm determined to save."  Well, he was on my lap, and if
he continues as he's suddenly begun doing, he'll pull through!  YEAH!!
We've been pushing pedialite down him, with occasional bits of milk
replacer.  He's had 2 doses of ProBios in the past 18 hours and 4cc's
of antibiotics.  About half an hour ago, he got up and walked around a
bit, then started nuzzling everything in sight, trying to get something

to eat.  We fed him a bit of milk and more pedialite, and now he's
dozing - just in time for me to feed the 5 *healthy* bottle babies.
There's one more that's not doing well that I'm hoping will perk up
soon.

There goes my alarm.  Anyone wanna come help feed?  ;-) Janey??
Anyone?  Chewy's passed out in  bed after two sleepless nights.

That's wonderfull! It must be tremendously satisfying and rewarding to see
those little lives suddenly perk up and take off on their own 4 feet. Well
done little one!
And well done Kitten.

Glad the ram is doing better, and hope the others follow suit. And wishing
you and Chewy acres of sleep time.

LOL My sleep deprived brain forgot that you have a lot of animals and I
read this as a dozen human babies.  MY brain hurt just thinking about
trying to care for a dozen babies at one time.  Not that the animals
aren't a lot of work too, I'm sure
