My challenge

While dh is away I've set myself a challenge..... to revamp our toilet
room (hate calling it that but its the room that has our toilet in it!)
Its a teeny tiny room.

I'm going to do it without spending any money on it at all :)

When we first moved in I had this mad idea of making it look a bit like
the night sky. The bottom half is light blue, the top half (from waist
height) is/was midnight blue painted with silver stars. The ceiling
is/was midnight blue with some cloud effects :-/ On the door I stuck
little glow in the dark spots in the shape of constellations. Id done
the pipes, door handle etc in silver!

So....
I'm leaving the bottom half light blue. I'm doing the top half cream and
the ceiling white. The door, pipe work etc will be white. Its all paint
left over from other jobs. I found a bamboo blind in the loft that fits
the window (wonder if it was originally in that room?) and a non silver
wooden loo roll holder also in the loft. I've got a poster from the 1957
Monaco Grand Prix that can go up (but sadly I dont have a frame for it)

Not very exciting, perhaps a little too conventional? I did contemplate
using some gold paint I've got to print ammonite shapes all over the
walls. Do you think that would be cool or hideous?

Sounds very clever Sarah!

You might find some wood scraps that possibly could frame the picture for
the wall... you could nail it right to the wall with small nails.  Just a
thought... it'd look well!

Thats a nice idea Anni, I'll have to see what I've got.
I finished the painting today. Had a slight hiccup when Katherine
'forgot' she shouldnt touch the gloss work about a minute after I asked
her to be careful and not to touch it, but in the end it came good.

Isn't that just the way it is... don't touch and what do we do!  LOL!  I
have to laugh.  I see a don't touch sign and I go for it.

Glad it turned out well... you are inspiring!
