Well, after taking the advice of others on here to deal with my TTC
problems, I charted this month and used ovulation predictor strips.
Fortunately, I determined that I -was- ovulating, but 3-4 days later
than "typical" (i.e., 3-4 days later than the standard internet
ovulation calendars said I was ovulating).  I was only cautiously
optimistic.  I knew that could mean my luteal phase was too short.  I
also knew that many, many months, DH and I were active in that
slightly later window and still didn't conceive.

So anyway, I have these pg test strips that are supposed to work way
earlier than anyone else's, supposedly giving results 6-10 days after
ovulation.  I've taken one every day for like two weeks, and that time
frame had passed days ago.  But then, this morning, I saw just the
slightest hint of a line.  I took an e.p.t. digital, and yes --
PREGNANT!

Now, I'm a tad freaked out 'cause I had a bit too much wine last
night, but I'm really hoping that didn't hurt anything.

So, anyway, thanks.  I hope I'll be sticking around here.  This group
was so great when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2004 and my son
in 2006.  I don't know if any of you remember me, but you might
remember me posting about my son when he was a newborn.  He had an
arterial defect that was compressing his trachea.  He'd had a cough
and stridor since birth and we had to subject him to a ton of tests
and procedures in his first 4 months of life.  He still has some
problems, but by and large, he's fine.

Anyway, I'm both so incredibly happy and so completely terrified of
mc.  I guess all I can do is wait.

Take care.

Congrats!  That's awesome!
Nevermind the wine... Even if you were way over the top and passing out
because of it, don't worry.  ;)  It shouldn't be a concern and there's
nothing you can do about it anyways :P
I do remember you - you were around the same time I was around with DD2.
Take it easy congrats again!

Congrats, Carlye.  Please don't fret about the wine last night.  At this
point, the teeeny tiny embryonic cells are way smaller than the period at
the end of this sentance, and are likely not yet burrowed in deep enough
into your uterus to be connected to your blood supply.  So fret not.

That's right!  LOL I remember there was a handful of us expecting all fairly
close together.  Now it looks like it's happening all over again! ;)

Thanks, everybody.  I really appreciate the congratulations, and I'm
glad to hear that the excess of wine probably wasn't as bad as I
feared.

I know it's really early, so I'm trying not to get too excited, but I
am genuinely just thrilled.

Have a nice weekend!

Hi Carlye,

Congratulations!

I remember ttc, and reading stories like yours (when I thought I
missed my chance that month) always gave me hope.  How exciting!
