Nope, I'm not pregnant :)  But I figured I'd drop in and say hi because it's
been a while since I've been online.  We're all doing fine.  DD4 is doing
better than she was last year.  She's 16 months old and 16 pounds now.
Huge, I know.  She's already had bronchitis this fall, so maybe that's it
for the year.  She gets physical therapy once a week for poor muscle tone
and her feet issues.  Eventually, she'll probably need to be casted, right
now we make do with special shoes.

We're getting ready to move to Miami at the end of the winter.  My husband
finally has orders for a shore command, so no more deployments for at least
2 years.  That'll be awesome, or insane, not sure.  I've been busy trying to
get rid of everything I don't want to move across the country, including 4
girls' worth of baby clothes I won't need again.

DD2 (the ASD one) is in developmental kindergarten all day, 4 days a week
this year.  She's doing super and spends half days in a typically developing
class twice a week.  She is on a medicine strike though, so she's been a
little crazy at home.  Anyone know how to get a 5 year old to take pills
short of shoving them down her throat?  :)

DD1 and 3 are doing great.  They're so normal its hard to say anything about
them.

Anyway, its great to read everyone's progress and birth announcements.  I'm
trying to catch up, but I don't know how much I'll be online.  Take care!

Hey, 16 is better than 10! She sounds like she's doing well.

So glad you stopped by. And its great that your husband is going to be
on shore command for a bit. And sounds like the rest of the girls are good.

Welcome back!

Oh, I'm so glad to know DD4 is doing better!  I have often thought
about her (and you) and wondered.

Lorelei is about to turn one and she weighs about 22 lbs.!  A couple of
months of furmula supplementation did the trick for her; then we slowly
weaned her off and now she still nurses frequently and eats everything
in sight!

Good to see you again!

Thanks for the update Denise. I'd been wondering how you were doing. Your
name came up not to long ago in a WHET type thread. Glad to hear everyone is
doing well. Good luck with the move to Miami.

I think you were joking, but just in case... when I was five,I had to
take some small pills for a while. My mom gave them to me in a spoonful
of jam.

That worked for a while, but now she refuses that too... For a while I could
open them and put them in juice, but she's caught on :(

Oh dear. Um... stuff the pill in a piece of liverwurst? That works for
cats...

Can't you just explain to her that she has to take her medicine to feel
better, and that she has some choices -- she can swallow the pill herself,
you and dh can force it into her, or she can chose to have it "hidden" in
applesauce, juice, or ice cream (whatever), but that she has to take the
pill, and that part isn't negotiable.  What is negotiable is HOW she takes
it.  I think a 5 year old ought to be able to understand some basic
medical/health issues, and start to be jointly responsible for their health
along with their parents.  Part of the responsibility a 5 year old can take
is the decision to take the meds willfully.  Even if they just agree to know
that it's hidden in juice or applesauce or jam, etc.

Hi Denise,

I'm glad you dropped in. I had been wondering about you a few weeks ago and
asked how you were.

Wow, that is exciting. I'm glad your hubby will be around more now.

Yep, Allison started practicing with those mini M &M's and we would help her
position it on the back of her tongue and then swallow it with water. It
didn't take long for her to figure it out.

Thanks for the update and good luck with the move. I'm glad your family is
doing well.

That's a really good idea, and one that I'm going to try to tuck away for
later!
