when I was two months preggo in August I got a bad cold then a sinus
infection and i was told to be on the safe side to suck it up and not take
anything to relieve symptoms ( although it was not said so harshly LOL) I
spent most of the time in the bathroom leaving the shower on for so the
steam could clear my congestion also had a humindifier in my room. Maybe
your doc will be able to suggest something to make you feel a little better

I have been sick for the last week with a horrible chest cold. The
doctor told me that Sudafed is okay if absolutely necessary (since it
only relieves symptoms and does not help to "cure," he said to try not
to use it), Tylenol is fine every six hours, and Robitussin DM and
Halls Cough Drops were okay if I was coughing. This is consistent with
what I was told while pregnant with DD by my old doctor.
I also used Vicks Babyrub (not 'cause it's "safer" but because it's
what I had on hand), "steamed" myself over pots of hot water, and used
a humidifier.
Good luck. I was, and still am, quite miserable with whatever I've got
-- I hope you find something that works well to make you feel better!

A nurse told me _not_ to use Robitussin DM. She wasn't my doctor, though
-- I'd called my insurance company's nurse hotline in the middle of the
night -- and maybe she was being extra cautious.

I guess everyone will give you a different answer, even if it's coming from
an actual doctor... But my OB told me sudafed, robitussin, vicks and
benadryl are fine during pregnancy. Call your advice nurse or OB to
confirm. Also steam helps alot to loosen congestion.

My dr says its best to avoid all meds. Suck it up ( as hard as it may
be ) and just "steam" it out. I know you can take tylenol every 4-6 hrs
but other than that I was told not to take anything like sudafed, advil
cold & sinus, vicks vapour rub etc. Steam it out girl.....thats the
safest way to do it for the baby!
