Wife and I went for an ultrasound tonight she is 21 weeks and the
examiner told us it was a girl. She said she is "yet to be wrong" in
determining sex and never tells unless she is 100% sure. My
understanding is if you are told it's a boy, you can pretty much take
that to the bank but if told it's a girl there is a possibility the
determination could be wrong......is this accurate? How accurate would
her assesment be at 21 weeks? We are joyous either way just want a
healthy baby. Thanks.

Odds are quite good she's correct; however, no one is
infallible--regardless of the actual or predicted sex of the
baby. You can likely plan on a girl, but I wouldn't bet the
farm on it.

I have had 3 ultrasounds where we were told it looks like a girl but
the legs were a little close together so it isn't 100%. The ultrasound
with my son clearly showed he was a boy but no boy parts could be seen
with this baby. I have prepared for a girl so if it ends up being a
boy he will probably be wearing pink home from the hospital, ha ha. I
have had a lot of people tell me that they were told repeatedly that
they were having a girl only to find out it was a boy. I don't care if
I have a boy or a girl but if I hear "It's a boy!" in the delivery room
I will probably burst out laughing because of all the pink I now have.
I only wanted to know ahead of time because I wanted to be prepared and
I wanted to prepare my children (1 boy & 1 girl) because one of them
will soon be sharing their bedroom. I will find out in the next week I
guess since the baby was due yesterday.
