So am I alone?  Am I peerless?  I'm a newly single dad with 2 special needs
boys (I fought for and won custody... but the judge deemed $45 / week "fair"
child support... c'est la vie).  Are there any support groups for such
societal freaks as myself?

Nice to know there are others.

Yeah, I wanted my boys of course, but I guess still a bit bitter about the
whole thing... But in any case, is this like a tight group, or do people
come and go?

Well, those who fail Initiation go, those who pass stay. :P

Other than that, it *seems* to be the same old people over the years.  Some
come, some go, some disappear for a while and then come back again.
It's pretty much whatever life allows.  Sometimes it's hopping here, other
times, as dead as can be.  The trend seems to be that people catch up when
they have free time (and as a parent, single or not, does 'free time' really
exist that often??) ;)
It's basically the same people around for ages, you get the odd person who
pops in and goes, the odd troll or bit of spam but those who are posting on
a regular basis are about as common as those in and out people - and those
people come out of nowhere if they're more of the lurking type, offer their
2¢ and then go back to lurking mode.

Your not alone , there are more freeks just like you here. I'm not a
freek like you but rather a freek like me, and I think I am freekier
than you ...........but anyway be glad you get the 45/wk ! some get
less or even no help at all.

I am Bev, single, but not single, but not married, I have a girlfriend,
that is here when she is not working, I think I saw her for a moment
last week though ! My children are all almost 19 years old and above.
My oldest step child is like 30 something LOL! I spend a lot of time
caring for my grandchildren now that range from soon to be 15 to still
in the womb ! I just turned 40 for the 5th time and have the body of an
80 year old.(sexy picture) Parts are falling off left and right, thats
where the grandkids come in handy they pick em up for me so I dont lose
any. I am currently working with the doctors to rebuild. Life is what
it is , at first I thought how nice it would be once my youngest turned
18 and was on her way out into the big exciting world. Hmmmmmm no one
told me just because the first one flew 3000 miles away shortly after
she turned 18 meant the last one would follow ! LOL!
I miss her , she comes to visit once a year, she says that a few weeks
back home cures her homesickness.........,grinning now cause I know
what she means!

Anyway the younger one is borderline personality , she has a 21/2 yr
old whos favorite quote now that her Auntie from California was here is
"WHATEVER!" and another on the way, they live with me. It looks like a
long haul from here ! I sometimes participate, mostly read, I most
enjoy the adult interaction that sometimes happens here, sometimes good
for a laugh and a moment away from the stress. The advice is effective.

Welcome to the twilight zone..........

> Your not alone ,

Bev truly knows better.......... the "you're" she should have used is
right here<-----------

My excuse follows..........

See it is like this, My 2 1/2 year old grand daughter snuggled up in my
bed last night with me. I, unaware that she was not wearing a pull up
fell back to sleep, to wake up at about 4:30 this fine a.m. soaked in
urine ! woo hoo !!! yay!!!!!! what a way to start yer day!!!!!!! I
logged on to the group and decided to post before the coffee was
made........
see ? I have a perfectly good, legitimate excuse!

What is better yet is the fact that my grand daughter is testifying
that her baby doll that is also soaked , is the one that wet my bed! So
it is almost an hour and a half later now...I have had some coffee, J
bit her finger eating a piece of cheese, there is a small chance we
could and should try and go back to sleep, cause the 3 year old
grandson is due to arrive at 8:30 a.m. and that my friends is when the
real fun begins!
