Hi
I found this group only awhile ago.
I thought I could find people to chat with via emails with problems dealing
with kids as a sole parent.
I live in Australia.
I have 3 teenagers.
My 16 yr old was a sensible girl until a couple of months ago and now since
she turned this age in June she has gone berserk and run away from home.
I would love to hear from someone who can offer advice, about their
experiences in this situation, if any.
Thanks

Well it wasn't too long ago I was 16 and berserk. However my issues
definitely had a cause, and I was too far removed from talking to my parents
so they could help me. We got into it a few times and I ran away from home
at 17. Good news is, I settled down a few years later, got some help and
managed to repair that relationship with my family. Has she said anything
lately about some troubles she's been having? Or have you possibly set down
some rules she's not keen on following so she's skipped out? Only your
daughter knows what's going on, so my advice is to talk with her and try
hard not to lecture (as a parent that's hard.)

Hi, and welcome. I've got 16 & 19 year old daughters. We
spent a year in Oz in 99/2000. Loved it. We were in Sydney -
North Rocks, to be exact.
By and large, when a formerly sensible and sane kid goes off
the wall practically overnight, there is a cause. Something
has happened. You need to know what.
Good luck.
