Well, little Mr. Attitude has settled in pretty well. So's the little
doeling we picked up the same day.
We got a good bit of the colostrum I'd frozen into each of them, and
now we're putting powdered colostrum into milk replacer. They've gotta
have the real stuff in the first 24 hours, but after that, the powder
helps. They're both eating like they're starving to death. LOL...
They each had 8 oz about an hour ago, and they're nudging my legs
again.
A few minutes ago, they were playing across the living room from me.
They're running and jumping pretty well for 2 day olds. The little
buckling was trying to jump up on the footstool. Methinks they should
be spending most of their time outside fairly soon.
I need to go take a nap now. Shadow, the 3 wk old ram lamb, is curled
up on my lap, napping. My buspar is making my head woozy. And I have
to drive YD to work in an hour. I need to sleep off the effects of my
meds.
I'll be glad when these side effects go away.

That sounds wonderful, but I *have* to ask... How do you keep your
flor reasonably clean? I'm guessing that these little guys are not
using litter boxes or paper.

I keep a mop and a bucket of water with vinegar and soap in it sitting
by the living room door at all times. And lots of toilet paper. I
went through 2 rolls yesterday, plus mopping. I'm either going to put
chicken wire around the old wooden playpen we've got or buy one of the
newer playpens with netting. That will help a lot.

Of course, when the days are nice like today, even the newborns can
spend most of the day outside. YEAH!!! I didn't need to mop all day!

How sweet Kitten! My Mom raised a baby goat recently and had a lot of fun
with it. The mama died in kidbirth and "Mary" thinks she is a human. She
is getting too big now to carry and has been outside in a small pen for
quite a while.
We have 5 baby chicks. I love babies!
With hope and heart,
Kathleen
